The grounds surrounding the hostel buildings was very beautiful. Banos was very wet and was surrounded by several waterfalls. It is a popular city for tourists.
On our way on the waterfall tour, we stopped at this bridge and for $10 Jon bungied off the side.
The mountains were so great and lush. Part of the Amazon River started right around the corner.
What they call a "Tomato Tree." The fruit looks and feels much like a tomato, but it tastes more fruity. They make a wonderful breakfast juice.
We left Banos to drive to Quito. On the way we saw many more small cities. This one had workers putting in pavers. Many of the small cities had streets made completely of pavers.
A trip to South America wouldn't be complete without meeting at least one llama!!

Outside of Quito is the Middle of the World monument. This is where the equator divides the northern and southern hemispheres.

For dinner we found a restaurant that served Cuy. It's whole fried Guinena Pig, a delicacy in Ecuador. It tasted like greasy chicken.
