Our church building hosts a Christmas thing every year. Tons of nativities plus local people come sing and play music. It was lovely!

My sister is visiting (YAY!) and she dragged me to CrossFit (eeek). Somehow, I survived. One of the moves was called the Farmers Carry, which was like carrying grain buckets.
Brynn and I went to the park today with our dog, Emmett. There were a lot of students there from a special needs school playing and enjoying the AZ sunshine. As we approached the playground, one of the students was clearly agitated and having a hard time. The teachers were asking him to calm down but he was not responding super well. When I was a few feet behind this boy, he turned around, saw our dog, and his demeanor completely changed. "Ohhh look at the doggie! Come here, boy! What is his name? Sit, boy! Hi Emmett, you are a good dog! Everyone, come look at the doggie!" This continued for quite a while, and several of the other students came to pet him. Emmett was over the moon with all of this attention. Our dog loves making new friends. The students eventually got on their bus to leave, but not before the once agitated boy turned and waved and said, "BYE Emmett!!!"

This was seriously one of the best interviews I've done. And for such a worthy cause. He drove me all around the White Tanks and I fell in love with that place. The group he is heading up is working with cities and developers and scientists, etc., to find out the best ways for the land to be developed but allow nature to be nature.
The BYU student editors, who have edited my middle grade fantasy manuscript (Misty Darington and Her Magical Glasses) as part of an editing class, are in the typesetting phase. Look at the chapter heading. LOOK AT IT! I literally screamed when I saw it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE SNIDERS!
We've had an adventurous year. Jon got a promotion with his company, so we packed and moved to Phoenix. We love it here! Jon commutes downtown in his little zippy electric car. He had two work trips this year, in Mississippi and Idaho. The kids attend a charter school close by. We love our neighborhood and ward. Jon is serving in scouts and I am teaching primary. Dallin found his calling with running and did great on the cross country team. Justin is creating comics all the time. Sydney is busy with dance and pretending she's a school teacher. Brynn keeps us laughing and is killing it in gymnastics. We love having Grandma Sharon live with us; our house here has a MIL suite so the kids can visit anytime. Our backyard is still just dirt and a trampoline, so hopefully a pool is in our future. I am writing for clients and also writing children's fantasy books. We have had lots of ups and downs this year, but we're all in it together. We love this time of year when we can reflect and think about our Savior and all He has done for us. We'll be thinking of our family and friends celebrating in the cold weather while we play outside!

AZ Sniders
We were delivering cookies last night and happened to drive by a house (off Van Buren between Cotton and 167th) with tons of people in the driveway... dressed up! Elves, snowman, Mrs. Claus, and SANTA! They were so excited when we stopped and saw Brynn running to sit on Santa's lap. He gave her a little toy and candy cane. It was fun sharing the Christmas spirit with random strangers.
It was hard to keep quiet about this gift to Jon Snider.... you all know he's a Broadway fan. Recently he's been watching the movie An American in Paris and studying the songs, something he does with each musical he comes across. A production of An American in Paris is coming to the Herberger in Phoenix and we're going in February! This face was worth the wait. I seriously anticipated him opening this gift more than seeing the kids open theirs. LOL
