It's so awesome. You can see if you are related to Mormon Pioneers, Presidents, etc...
Guess what? I have two DIRECT ancestors who were in the Mayflower! I had no idea!
(They both came through the line of Bertha Blanchard -- William Henry Kennington Jr.'s wife.)
---------------------
Edward Planter Doty -- 11th great grandfather
Read more about him on Wikipedia.
Edward was a passenger on the Mayflower, and he helped explore the Cape Cod area after they landed in order to find a place to settle. Edward Doty later became a wealthy land owner, but his argumentative
nature and display of temper caused him to be in the Plymouth court many
times over the years.
Edward
Doty (signed Edward Doten) and John Alden were two of the signatories of the Mayflower
Compact in 1620. (Painting by Jean Leon Gerome Ferris, 1899.)
John Alden -- 11th great grandfather
Read more about him on Wikipedia.
John Alden was hired in Southampton, England, as the ship's cooper, responsible for maintaining the ship's barrels.
He married fellow Mayflower passenger Priscilla Mullins. (Rogers Group, depicting the courtship of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins: "Why Don't You Speak for Yourself, John?" 1885.)
