We rang in the New Year at Conrad & Sarah Kenningon's house in Meridian, Idaho. Our kids had fun pairing off with their buddies (all very close in age!).
We also spent some time and Mark & Vanessa Kennington's house in Fruitland, Idaho. She made some awesome clam chowder (Grandma Carol Kennington used to make it for every holiday).
Then Grandma Sharon Snider came to visit! We had tons of fun. Mostly we talked, played with the kids, talk some more, and then planned our basement project because.... she is moving in with us!! We can't wait!! She also gave Dallin's birthday present to him early -- a microscope. He turns 9 on February 1. Crazy.
And the BIG news this month was that my parents came home from their mission to Chile! Elder & Sister Kennington flew into Idaho Falls at the end of January. They were pretty tired from a long flight, and many months of hard work. They slept in our basement very very well and got acclimated to speaking English, eating US food, and enjoying things we take for granted! It was wonderful to visit with them about what they did and all the people they helped. They loved the people of Chile so much. After a week here, they re-packed all their stuff and took off for home in their 4Runner, which we had been babysitting.
We didn't get a ton of snow this year, but it did dump a lot one night and it's been frozen into mounds ever since. Justin and Aiden love playing on them.

Mom & Dad gave our kids some Chilean coins. So, naturally they used them to play, "Go to the movies in Chile, and buy popcorn."
Bacon and peanut butter and heaters... just a few things Patty Redd Kennington and dad missed while on their mission in Chile. Believe me, they are catching up on those things now.

When your baby is like, "Hey mom, hold me and feed me alllll day while I don't nap....." You might be going to bed at 7pm. Good night everybody!
Grandma Sharon Schooler Snider is coming today! But we didn't tell the kids. "Daddy is bringing home a surprise after work today." They think it is toys.
Night seven of me and Dallin going on 30 minute walks after dinner. He talks my ear off and climbs snow mounds while I get some exercise. We both sleep better. Totally worth it, even if the temp is 32 degrees.

There is always that one demon toy -- the one the kids haven't played with in hours, but it is still going off. Then the batteries start to die and the voice gets creepy....
I call it the junk drawer, but my kids call it the magic drawer. Because there are magical things like batteries and tools in there (and who knows what else).
Sydney insists that Brynn go to baby school... and Sydney is the teacher, because she's an expert.
One year ago yesterday, we moved to Idaho Falls! So far, it's been an adventure.
The boy cousins had a "prank assembly" .... heaven help us.
